Feeling I wasn't a bad netball player, I asked my sister if I could play in her netball team. I was told NO there aren't any spaces.

I was crushed by this response, but as luck would have it, a couple of weeks later one of the players told me they were expecting so wouldn't be playing for a while.

Armed with this new information I went back to my sister and asked again if I could join. I would be given a chance in their next league match. As I was given the Centre bib, I was told "you better play good!". So there I was legs trembling in the centre circle, praying please let me get a decent centre pass out!!!

I survived to play another match......
