Agenda for Exco Meeting on 25th April 2007
1. Finance update and banking details
a. Wilna expressed difficulty in getting players to understand why they have
to pay 10 installments when the season is only 9 months long.
DECISION: Next season, have an initial fee and 8 payments for the entire season.
It will be easier to set up a budget next season as we now know the exact cost
of gym hire, staffing costs, more players are paying fees and a payment system
is in place.
b. Suggestion by Alex that we have a subscription box so that fees can by paid
at each training. The membership officer/communications champion can be in
charge of the box for each team.
c. Joyce is speaking with Schroders re: sponsorship to cover venue hire, warm
up shirts and kits. Alex stated that sponsorship funds are matched by Sport
England.
2. Year End Bash 16th June
We will have 3 separate AGMs and then the 3 sports teams will party together.
Lionheart of the Year will be awarded during the joint session.
3. Big Bash 2007 28th April
Maggie, Thomas, Joyce and Alex O attended. Alex O has applied for a £100
grant.
4. Exeter Tournament 9th and 10th June
-9th June 4-a-side £20 per team
-10th June 6-a-side £30 per team
Emma has agreed to organise.
5. Bath Tournament 21st and 22nd July
Received confirmation for 3 teams: Men’s 2, Women’s 1 and a Mixed
team.
ACTION: We still need someone to volunteer to organise.
6. Coaches for next season
a. Alex will ask Dave Hoile to coach the Men’s team. Dave is a Level 2
coach and recently joined our men’s team.
b. Alex has spoken with Thomas about attending a Level 1 coaching course.
c. Other possibilities: Allan, Alex C, Karin, Joyce and Maggie.
d. Nils, Maggie and Alex C have expressed interest in attending the Level 1
coaching course in Birmingham in June/July. The May course is fully booked.
e. Gaby is keen to take on the development officer role and will be pursuing
her Level 2 certificate.
7. John Orwell Sports Centre
-price has gone up to £43.20 for 2 hours + VAT and we can only book 3
months at a time.
DECISION: Not to hire out this venue.

Sunday 4-6pm Development session
Sunday 6-8pm Men’s 1
8. Junior development sessions on Saturdays at Langdon
Park School
The first session went very well. Maggie attended and Karin will be helping
out
as well.
9. BBQ at Tom’s tentatively set for Friday, 22nd June.
10. AOB
a. Committee updates:
-Tom will be retiring from playing as well as managing at the end of the season.
-Alex O is moving to Scotland in July.
-Maureen will need to step down from her various roles due to work commitments.
She has kindly offered to continue to do the fixtures for the Women’s
2 team.
-Yumi is likely to leave the club to due to time commitments with playing National
league Division 1.
b. Sudi and Oscar will be playing in beach tournaments and promoting the club.
c. Interclub friendly on Thursday 24th May.
